WORKS: You must complain to get a response

In response to Danielle Walker's complaint about grass verges not being re-instated (News Guardian, March 10), it is worth noting the following.

Friday, 1st April 2016, 3:00 pm

The utility companies that regularly dig up expanses of grassed areas will not reinstate them as you would expect as this costs money.

Councils do not enforce this as a matter of course and wait until they receive a complaint from a member of the public. They will then instruct them to reinstate.

You could also ring the company directly.

Do nothing and the environmental vandals win.
