Budding young fashionistas have been learning how to create a wardrobe of bespoke fashion garments.
Fun and practical workshops were held over the summer holidays by textile artists from The Textillery.
Instead of ditching worn out, unloved clothing, youngsters were taught to upcycle their garments in a bid to save money, help protect the environment and create a wardrobe that they love to wear.
The free sessions were part of a fun packed programme of activities for youngsters in Whitley Bay which had been developed by Whitley Bay Big Local to inspire under 18s in the town and introduce them to different skills and hobbies.
Whitley Bay Big Local is a Big Lottery funded ten-year community initiative led by volunteers with the aim of making the seaside town a great place for everyone to live and work.
