Harry Mutch fell from his horse last year and suffered a severe leg hematoma.

Now the 20-year-old, from Holywell, has set up Harry Mutch Eventing Limited thanks to support from business advisors and accountants Robson Laidler.

Harry Mutch Eventing Limited is housed at the Manor House in Holywell, and includes stables and a large indoor arena with a wax track surface, dressage mirrors and a full course of show jumps.

There is also a large field of cross-country jumps for training plus a schooling service in dressage, show jumping and cross-country while people can be taught at their own premises.

Harry, who competes to British Evening Advanced Level and International 2* Level and is striving to be in the British Team of Young Riders next year, said: “We’ve always had horses in our family and I started riding at the age of 13.

“Within seven years I am now competing in international competitions and I am currently looking for a horse to train to take me to 4* competitions as my goal is to be at Burghley Horse Trials within two years.

“The business is a passion of mine; I’ve just got back after a month’s training with top British event rider Oliver Townend, ready for the start of the event season. I am looking for more horse owners to come forward and let me train their horses to a high standard.”

Harry Mutch Eventing had business support and accountancy advice from Robson Laidler Accountants in Jesmond who specialise in helping businesses to grow.

Robson Laidler has set the business up on cloud-based accounting software Xero so financial information can be given in real time to help with forecasting, budgeting and cash flow.

Robson Laidler director Martin Wardle said: “It’s great to help fledgling businesses like Harry’s, particularly when the owner has so much enthusiasm and determination.

“The business is well positioned for growth from the start and I can’t wait to help Harry achieve his goals.”
