Store’s support helps club raise £611 for cancer project

I WOULD appreciate the opportunity to use your columns to publicly thank customers at Tesco Extra, Norham Road, North Shields, for their generous response to my rotary club’s collection at that store last Friday when the magnificent total of £611.32 was raised for our Cancer Care Project.

I would also like to thank the management and staff for their usual help and co-operation, which this club is always extremely thankful for.

The money raised on this occasion will be supplemented by the club’s trust fund and a total of £1,000 will be donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care in support of its Daffodil Appeal.

Demand for in-patient services by people with cancer, and other life-limiting illnesses, at Marie Curie Cancer Care’s purpose-built hospice in Newcastle, has never been greater than now and the size of their team of dedicated Marie Curie nurses, offering people end of life care in their home, is increasing, giving patients choice in where to spend their final days.

Members of The Rotary Club of Monkseaton Centenary and its Cancer Care Project are proud to continue the long partnership between its Cancer Care Project and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
