A North Tyneside woman has struck a blow for the North East by landing a top national position with the Alzheimer’s Society.
Zoe Campbell is now the charity’s head of business development and when not on the road she will work from its Scotswood office.
She said: “I’ve heard a few people say ‘if you are going to get on then you are going to have to go down to London’, and I thought, no I’m not.
“I’m passionate about where I am from whilst I wanted to get on career-wise I didn’t want to up sticks and head to London, so it’s great that Alzheimer’s Society has been flexible.”
The former Burnside High School student from Wallsend is relishing her new role, adding: “I am delighted to be working as part of the Alzheimer’s Society and I’m very excited about the new role and taking on the many challenges that dementia brings to those it affects.”
