The top 10 most loveable movie monsters - is your favourite here?

May the Force be with you – the majority of people know exactly what this means – but just incase it is the tag line for the Star Wars movie franchise.

The Force is the invisible eternity that gives the true Jedi knight superhuman powers.

To honour the Force OnBuy.com was curious to find out who people see as the most lovable monsters from films and series.

In order to do so, they gathered some of the most well-known characters from cinematography and asked 1,622 people to vote for the one they find to be the most lovable.

The results are in and 35 per cent voted for Groot, the tree-like being from Guardians of the Galaxy, as the most lovable film monster of them all.

While his character won everyone’s hearts by being an amazing friend and sacrificing himself for the greater good, the final scene revealing tiny Groot is definitely the cherry on top of the cake.

Star Wars fans will be pleased to know that in second place is none other than Yoda with 19 per cent of respondents voting for the lovable and wise icon.However, he is not the only Star Wars character that made the list. In third place we find Chewbacca, with 18 per cent of people voting for the loyal best friend of Han Solo.

Jabba the Hutt made the top 10 list as well, with three per cent of respondents forgetting he is a slug-like crime lord, who is wholly responsible for capturing Princess Leia and sticking her in the now infamous golden bikini (or loving that about him) and considering him favourite of them all.

Everyone would love to be visited by a friendly alien like ET.

Well if not everyone, at least 5 per cent of survey respondents do. Those who didn’t choose ET as their most favourite alien ‘monster’ probably preferred hanging out with the Worm Guys from Men in Black (4%)

Of course the cuddliest of the Gremlins Gizmo made it to number four in the list.

Also making the grade was King Kong – the first film to feature the giant gorilla was released in 1933.

Kong has been dubbed the Eighth Wonder of the World.

The film received universal acclaim upon its initial release and re-releases. A sequel followed that same year with The Son of Kong, featuring Little Kong. In the 1960s, Toho produced King Kong vs Godzilla.

It was remade in 1976 with Jessica Lange as the woman in peril and remade again in 2005.

BigFoot – featured in Harry and the Hendersons – also featured on the list. Bigfoot or Sasquatch are said to be hairy, upright-walking, ape-like creatures that dwell in the wilderness and leave footprints.

More scary rather than cuddly movie featuring Big Foot include Sasquatch, 2002, Boggy Creek, 2011, and The Capture of Big Foot, 1979.

If there’s something strange in your neighborhood – who you gonna call? Ghostbusters.

They do not come much stranger than Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from the film Ghostbusters.

The giant fluffy character made it into the charts with two per cent of the vote.
