End of the season for local cricket teams
It was the final day of the local cricket scene on Saturday.
Tynemouth 1sts lost by three wickets away to Eppleton.
Tynemouth batted first and were 154 all out with Mike Jones on 47. With the ball, Tynemouth had Eppleton at 72-2, but with Dean Musther on 31 the home side recovered at 156-7.
The 2nds hosted Gateshead Fell who elected to bat and posted 236-9. Tynemouth won by two wickets in the 49th over to end the season on the same points total as Benwell Hill behind Division 2 leaders South Northumberland.
In the NTCL, Percy Main 1sts ended their season with a 141 run victory away to Lintz 1sts in Division 1.
Will Taylor hit a splendid 155 as Percy posted 287 all out with Ben Fielding taking 4-51. Lintz were 146-9 in reply with David Anderson taking 4-18.
In Division 3, Whitley Bay 1sts lost by 72 runs at hiome to GEMs 1sts.
Two batsmen hitting half centuries, GEMs were 242-9 in their innings with three wickets each for Varum Goyal and Jay Virpura. Whitley were 170 all out in reply with Virpura top scoring on 41.
In Division 4, Whitley 2nds lost by 201 runs away to Ponteland 2nds.
John Lumb hit 94 as Pont put on 244-7. Whitley were all out for only 43 in reply with Liam Cosgrove taking 6-14.
Percy Main 2nds won by 21 runs at home to Civil Service.
Paddy Rathbone and Michael Boyd both hit half centuries as Percy opened with 180-6. Nikhi Bharti also hit a half century as Civil Service replied with 159 all out, Boyd and Alex Young each taking three wickets.
In Division 5, Monkseaton 1sts finished with a 105 run defeat away to Seaton Burn 2nds. Calvin Cioleman was 74 not out as Seaton made 221-4. Richard Ord then top scored with 30 as Monkseaton replied with 116-5, John Rock claiming four of the wickets.
Tynemouth 3rds won by 19 runs away to Benwell & Walbottle.Chris Grieveson hit 50 and Richard Hay 45 as Tyne posted 145-9. Benwell were 126 all out in reply with William Marrow on 47, Edward Snelders and Thomas Hamilton taking four wickets apiece.
