It was very much a case of Deja Vu for the Tynemouth first team at Jesmond on Saturday as, for the second week in a row, a dismal batting performance cost them the chance of victory after their bowlers had put them in a winning position

It was the introduction of Martin Pollard that swung the game Tynemouth’s way recording the stunning figures of 7-33 off his 12 overs. This had Newcastle all out for 113, which was well below par.

In reply, Tynemouth lost early wickets but Nick Armstrong and David Mansfield repaired any damage taking the score to 50-2.

However, seven wickets fell for just 15 runs as Tynemouth capitulated.
