Ashington Grand pushed all the way for the three points

In the Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League premier division, Ashington Grand had to fight all the way to gain maximum points at home against Forest Hall.

They eventually won by the odd goal in three. Michael Todd scored both Grand goals, with Joe Kennedy scoring for Forest Hall.

Division one saw Blyth Waterloo win by the odd goal in five at home against Ashington White House. On target for Waterloo were Darren Walker, Steven Molloy and Kris Coppen. Andrew McLennen scored both goals for White House.

Cramlington Green went down 4-0 at home to Blyth Isabella Colliery with Wayne Grassie (2), Scott Jenkinson and Todd Musgrave on target.

Blyth Sports and Social Club won 3-1 at FC Beacon, who had Dominic Gillespie on target, but goals from Jason Hamilton, Vince Palmer and Craig Danielson won it.

Blyth Last Orders went down at home to league leaders South Beach 3-1. Mathew Crook was on target for Last Orders, but Ryan McKee, Redmond Cockburn and Joe Betts scored for the winners.

Marden Residents beat AE Phoenix 7-3 with Leeroy Odd (3), Chris Darroll, Grant Richardson, Jordan Fry and Tony Fawcett on target. David Sturgeon, Daniel Donnely and Gavin McMillian scored for Phoenix.

Sunday sees the league holding two more cup finals at Bedlington Terriers’ ground.

With a 10.30am kick-off, Blyth Last Orders and Blyth Sports and Social Club will contest the Saints Shield final, sponsored by Trevor Scott, Stone Masons.

Then with a 2pm start, Burradon and New Fordley take on High Street Blyth in the SA Randolph Cup, sponsored by Jil Scott from Standard Security.
