Atkinson delighted with Whitley Bay win over West Auckland

Whitley Bay manager Paddy Atkinson was happy with his players after another top quality display against one of the sides chasing the league title.

Following Tuesday night’s 2-1 win over West Auckland, he said:“The never say die attitude you saw tonight is what we’re wanting, Scott Blandford has come in at centre back and been tremendous.

“Alex Kempster didn’t have the greatest game tonight, but he never stopped running.

“Andy Ferrell was tremendous in the second half and Robbo [Paul Robinson] scored a great goal, and he’s getting back to fitness.

“It was a great three points.”
