A young football team are hoping to build for the future after landing a new kit sponsor.
House builder Taylor Wimpey is lending its support to Whitley Bay FC’s mini soccer section by donating much needed funds for a kit sponsorship.
Paul McIlduff, chairman of Whitley Bay FC, said: “In the current economic climate it’s hard to attract sponsorship for our younger teams, Taylor Wimpey’s sponsorship is a huge endorsement for the club that will help us to strengthen our position moving forwards.
“Here at Whitley Bay FC, we want to continue expanding and recruit new members so I’m hopeful that this partnership will attract new talent, particularly from families moving to the housebuilder’s nearby developments.”
Taylor Wimpey are currently building at West Park development in west Monkseaton.
Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing manager at Taylor Wimpey North East, said: “We’re so excited to be supporting the fantastic West Monkseaton community with this sponsorship, and we hope our contribution will help the club continue to grow from strength to strength.
“Our West Park development is becoming a thriving part of the Whitley Bay community with families and couples from all walks of life calling it home. We’re confident our partnership with Whitley Bay FC will encourage huge interest for both parties.”
