Cougars back playing and quickly find their rhythm

NORTH Shields Cougars played their first league game since November 14 last year and were looking for their fifth win on the trot.

Brandon Carr started up front for the first time this season and responded with a first half hat-trick in the game against Ryton Under-11s.

The goals flowed fast and furious for the Cougars, with another hat-trick from Matthew Morley, two goals from Matthew Wilson and single strikes from Nathan Young, Thomas Craig, Leon Snowdon, Matthew Adamson and Dan Henderson.

Jairo Simao played his part and did everything but score.

The score line suggests it was all one-way traffic, but Ryton were still dangerous on the break throughout.

However, the Shields back five of Sam Garfoot, Kieran Barnes, Harry Clark, Jamie Balding and Andrew Mitcheson were fantastic and did extremely well to retain concentration and help keep another clean sheet – their third in four games.

A complete team performance from the whole North Shields Cougars squad.
