Cullercoats FC held the first of three annual presentation award events at Cullercoats Crescent Club, home of the senior and under-21 team sponsors.
The event celebrated the achievements of the under-15s through to the senior team, including the under-15 girls.
It was an extra special event in this their centenary year, with special guests Chris Bannon and Gareth ‘Gaz’ Bainbridge of North Shields FC appearing with the FA Vase.
A number of special individual and team awards were presented on the night, including the seventh club ten-year long service award (in the last two years) for Andrew Strong of the under-18s.
The under-15 boys were awarded team of the season after picking up cup finalist and league championship winning trophies, and their manager, Craig Williamson, won the manager of the year award.
The under-21s also celebrated retaining the Northumberland under21’s Champions League Trophy, and club secretary John Barnfather was awarded the Clubman trophy for outstanding services over the past 12 months.
John and Janice Barnfather have also been selected as the joint Northumberland FA recipients and nominees for the Volunteer of the Year award as part of the 2015 FA Community Awards.
They will receive their award at an event in Newcastle in July 2015 whilst being put forward for consideration at the regional selection process for the national awards.
The next two club presentation award events will take at Percy Park RFC on Sunday, June 7, with the first starting at 2pm for the Under 7’s to under-12s and the second starting at 7pm for the under-13s and under-14s (boys and girls).
