Cullercoats FC Under 12s entertained local rivals Tynemouth United FC in the NEYDL League on Saturday at Links Avenue.
The game proved to be an entertaining contest with Cullercoats dominating the first half.
They took the lead through an individual effort from captain Josh Morton who ran from the centre circle, beating several players before dispatching an excellent finish into the corner of the net.
The home side created a number of chances before the break but failed to add to their advantage.
Striker Ben Carr scored a second after the break to extend the lead before Tynemouth fought back and created several chances of their own. However, home keeper Bailey Askwith was in excellent form and kept a second clean sheet in his first two games for Cullercoats FC.
Winger Harvey Thompson was awarded man of the match for his battling display and distribution out wide a on a day where several home players shone and the whole squad performed well.
The win follows an excellent away win in the League Cup the previous weekend, a 5-0 success at KYPC in Killingworth.
