Cullercoats FC Under-12s extend winning run

Cullercoats FC Under-12s made it a hat-trick of wins with a comprehensive home victory against New Fordley in the NEYDL League on Saturday.

The game was played at a high tempo in windy conditions with Cullercoats having the wind advantage in the first half and they made good use of it.

Midfielder Kai Hay opened the scoring with a thunderous shot into the top corner.

Fellow midfielder Harvey Thompson then scored with an excellent left foot volley before substitute striker Jack Tatum made it 3-0 with another stunning long range strike before the break.

The second half was well competed by both teams, but Cullercoats continued to make the running and extended their lead through a second Hay goal, which was created and scored by the pacey wide player.

Skipper Josh Morton extended the lead with a well taken free kick from outside the penalty area.

And Hay had the last say with another individual pacey run down the right which ended with him being fouled in the box. He took the resultant penalty to secure his hat-trick and make the final score 6-0.

Hay also picked up the ‘man of the match award following his superb display on a day when the whole squad played their part.

Keeper Bailey Askwith kept a clean sheet for the third game running since signing for Cullercoats.
