Cullercoats recover from early setback to put five past Cramlington

Cullercoats secured a win despite conceding early against Cramlington Town in the Northern Alliance Nike first division.

They recovered from the poor start to lead 3-1 at half-time thanks to two goals from the prolific John Amos and a thumping header by Richie May.

Two second half goals from Jake Newstead and Hylton wall sealed the win before Cramlington scored a late consolation to make the final score 5-2.

Meanwhile, Cullercoats FC’s under-15s won 2-1 away to Wallsend Community.

In an excellent advert for junior football, Wallsend took an early lead in the first minute.

But a 30-yard screamer from Lewis Williamson hit the top corner to bring the visitors level.

The second half could have been anyone’s game as both sides had chances to win it before Aaron Dixon sealed the points for Cullercoats with an excellent finish following a through ball by Ben Morris.

The club’s under-15s had a comprehensive 6-1 win at home to Kingston Park.

Dan Morton fired in two early goals before Sam Allonby made it 3-0 to Cullercoats before half-time.

Alex Mutch got in on the act to add a fourth just after half-time before Kingston Park hit back.

Two fine Ben Morris strikes late in the second half sealed the three points for the home side.
