Cullercoats take all three points away to league leaders

Cullercoats followed up a good performance on Wednesday night when they drew 2-2 at home to Wallsend Boys Club with a fantastic performance away to league leaders New Fordley on Saturday.

Alan O’Donnell scored the opener on 23 minutes when he followed up his own shot, which was blocked by the home keeper, to volley in the rebound and make it 1-0 at he break.

Skipper Luke Ferguson, playing in central midfield, added the second on 57 minutes with a well taken finish in the box.

Ferguson sealed the win six minutes from time when he was quick to react to a blocked cross and drove the ball home.

David Cooper had another solid display in goal and made a crucial save at 2-0 set help set up the impressive win.

Cullercoats entertain Lindisfarne Custom Planet on Saturday at Links Avenue.
