Cullercoats U17s upset Red House Farm U18s in County Cup

Cullercoats U17s produced an upset to knock Red House Farm U18s out of the NFA County Cup.

They defended superbly in the first half to go in at 0-0, despite Red House dominating for large spells.

The visitors took the lead midway through the second half and we were expecting the floodgates to open.

But Marcus Holmes forced an equaliser just eight minutes later then Alex McEwan smashed in the winner with just 12 minutes left.

Keeper Dean Brooks was the hero right at the end with an incredible save as he clawed a certain goal out of the top corner as Cullercoats clung on.

Cullercoats’ man of the match was Davy Barber at centre back.
