Cullercoats U18s and Wallsend Community share the points

Cullercoats U18s earned a point at near neighbours Wallsend Community, in a bottom of the table clash which neither team wanted to lose.

The home side came out of the blocks quickly and caught Cullercoats off guard with a well worked game plan right from kick-off, playing a high pressure game which them take the lead on two minutes.

Cullercoats then settled into the game and kept good possession but found it difficult to unlock a resilient Wallsend defence.

It took a piece of individual skill to level the game on 28 minutes when Owen Porter drove inside from the left and fired home from 20 yards.

The Cullercoats defence kept good composure until just before the hour mark when they conceded a penalty from which Wallsend regained the lead.

Cullercoats pressed the home defence straight from the restart and were subsequently awarded a free kick, which was fired home by Dan .

The visitors continued to press for the rest of the game and started to get in behind the Wallsend defence, especially on the right hand side.

Cullercoats man of the match Jack Osborne made a number of penetrating crosses and saw a driven shot scrape the outside of the left hand post. However, the game ended 2-2.
