The home side took an early advantage with a Lloyd Leigh free kick and a cool finish inside the box from Martin Cobley giving them a 2-0 first half lead.

Ellington struck back after the break, but Cullercoats regained their two-goal advantage following a Jake Greener headed goal direct from a Leigh free kick from the left wing.

Greener then added his second on the hour following a right wing corner by Leigh to make the final score 4-1.

Leigh was awarded man of the match for his dominant midfield performance.

The U21s travel to fellow unbeaten side Forest Hall next weekend in what could be a crucial league encounter.
