Cullercoats Under-14 Girls celebrate their title win.

The home side, kicking into the wind, opened the scoring when the ball fell nicely in the box for Chloe MacKenzie to make it 1-0.

A spirited Cramlington hit back immediately with a neat move down the left and their pacey striker tucked it away to level.

The wind made it difficult for both teams, but Cullercoats went 2-1 up through MacKenzie’s second of the game.

They went 3-1 up before the break through a training ground move. Cullercoats’ own ‘Rory Delap’, Mia Wallace, put a tremendous long throw into the box and it was headed home by Beth Waterson.

In the second half, Cullercoats, with the wind on their backs, kept the away side pinned back and went 4-1 up through Libby Hall.

They made it 5-1 through Paige Longstaff’s long range effort, and then 6-1 up when Holly Cameron timed her run to sidefoot home at the back post.

Saffy Hogarth was again on the scoresheet and made it 7-1 before Holly Chatterton wrapped it up with a great strike inside the area.

Seven different players were on the scoresheet, but central defender Lauren Dack was awarded ‘player of the match’ for her captain’s performance at the back.

Cullercoats Girls narrowly missed out on the double on Saturday when they lost 4-2 to Coast Soccer Under-14s at Benfield Sports Ground.
