WEST Allotment Celtic’s five-match unbeaten run was ended by a narrow Esh Winning victory at West Terrace on Saturday.
Allotment had the better of the first half, dominating possession in the latter stages, but were unable to find the goal that their superiority deserved.
Neither side were able to carve out any clear cut chances and went in level at the break.
Esh Winning rallied in the second half, preventing Allotment from venturing out of their own half for much of the period.
One goal always looked likely to win the game and that proved to be the case when a crossfield pass found Stuart Thompson breaking down the Esh Winning left hand side before firing the ball past Aiden Ames in the Allotment goal in the 75th minute.
Allotment went in search of the equaliser but Esh Winning managed to see out the closing stages of the match to claim all three points and a second league win of the season over West Allotment Celtic.
