Cullercoats Football Club was founded in 1915 and celebrate their centenary this year.
To mark the occasion the club have arranged special events throughout the year, starting with a ‘Centenary’ fundraising Burns Supper Night at Cullercoats Crescent Club on Friday, January 23.
The evening will include a traditional haggis meal, Scottish piper and live music from six-piece award-winning band Hip Operation.
Tickets are available by calling 07810 655483. Alternatively, people can turn up on the night and pay at the door.
The evening commences at 7pm, with doors opening at 6pm.
Then on Sunday, February 22, the British Royal Fusiliers visit the club at their Links Avenue home pitch to play a friendly football match against a youthful Cullercoats FC XI.
The event will include a family fun day and the Fusiliers marching band will perform at Links Avenue and later at Cullercoats Crescent Club.
The management committee hope to welcome the local community on what will be a community focused ‘fun’ day for everyone.
The event will commence at midday with the football match taking place at 1pm.
Additional events are planned during the year, including a club reunion for players, officials and supporters past and present.
Further information will be published on Cullercoats FC’s Facebook page.
The club are also interested in collating any historical information, photographs and stories which can be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
