If Whitley Bay Football Club win their first-round replay at home to Northwich Manchester Villa tomorrow evening, they will be at home to Dunston UTS in the competition’s second round.

Incredibly, this would be the third year in succession that the North Tyneside and Gateshead sides have been drawn together in the competition, all three meetings being at Hillheads.

However, the Manchester side will be hoping that it is they who take on Dunston and will see the draw as a great incentive ahead of tomorrow’s replay.

Second-round ties will be played on Saturday, November 21.

Whitley secured a 1-1 draw away to Northwich in their first meeting last month, thanks to Mark Bertram’s 38th-minute goal.

Kick-off tomorrow night is at 7.45pm. For details, go to www.whitleybayfc.com

Northwich play in the North West Counties League’s first division, equivalent to the Northern League second division.

They reached this stage of the FA Vase with a 3-1 home win over Doncaster’s Rossington Main, having been given a bye in the first qualifying round.

The club were formed 10 years ago but were originally known as Woodley, undergoing several name changes since then, becoming Northwich Villa, then Northwich Flixton Villa and only adopting their current name in the summer.
