Fixtures come thick and fast for Whitley Bay

Following Thursday evening's League Cup semi-final at Marske United, Whitley Bay are back at Hillheads at the weekend for what will be only their second Saturday home game of the year when they welcome Consett to Hillheads.

The rearranged fixture list following the huge number of postponements has been harsh on Whitley’s weekend fans with so many Saturday games being away from home, but the last four weeks of the season will see the team at home each Saturday.

This weekend’s visitors are in good form, sitting eighth in the table, and they were narrow winners of a seven-goal thriller when the sides met at Belle View in February.

On Tuesday evening, Whitley face Dunston UTS at Hillheads in what will be the fourth game between the sides this season.

Having lost by the odd goal in the first two games, Whitley ran out surprisingly convincing 5-1 winners in the League Cup last month, and they will be hoping to make it two wins each with another victory over their old rivals.

There is no let up in the fixtures as on Thursday, April 21, Ian Chandler takes his leg weary side to West Auckland Town for their sixth game in 13 days.
