Forest Hall lose home advantage in Minor Cup

Once again the weather took its toll on some fixtures for Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League teams, with Forest Hall missing their Sunday Minor Cup game and losing home advantage against Newcastle and Tyneside Irish Club.

In the SA Randolph Cup semi-final Ashington Grand played out a pulsating tie against Blyth High Street before winning 6-5 after extra time.

In the Saints Shield semi- finals Ashington Excelsior Sporting Club went down 3-0 against Blyth Sports and Social Club.

In the other tie, Blyth Last Orders won 4-2 at Ashington White House.

Burradon and New Fordley reached their first final of the season when they won their semi-final of the Alan Davison Cup 9-0 over Newbiggin Bankhouse with goals from Andrew Keenan (3), Daniel Young (3), Ryan Hutchinson (2) and Lee Waugh.

In division one, FC Beacon beat Blyth United Services 5-2 with goals from Ian Marsh (2), Dominic Gillespie (2) and Luke Skipper.

Blyth South Beach moved to the top of the table with a 5-0 home win against A E Phoenix thanks to goals from Steven Mathewson, Dean Fitch, Joe Betts, Adam Emmerson and Curtis Miller.
