North Shields Juniors AFC Girls Under 18 football team are celebrating after netting new strips.

Motor dealers Benfield Renault Newcastle agreed to sponsor the team this year with a donation of £500 which allowed the purchase of a full set of replacement home strips for the season 2014/2015.

Carl Ormond, a member of the sales team at Benfield, helped to arrange the generous sponsorship as his daughter Caitlin plays for the girls team.

Team manager Michael Garner said: “We are very grateful to Benfield Renault for sponsoring the team for this season.

“Without their support we would have struggled to raise the cost of a replacement strip and we hope we can repay their generosity by performing well over the coming season.”
