Jarrow next up for Whitley

WHITLEY’S sequence of home games continues on Saturday when Jarrow Roofing are the visitors.

After struggling near the foot of the table for several months, the Boldon-based side are staging a late bid to avoid relegation, having won four of their last six games.

They have played more games than all of the sides around them, and although they are three points ahead of third bottom Penrith, the Cumbrians have five games in hand and a superior goal difference.

Saturday’s game could be crucial to their survival hopes.

When the sides met at Boldon in September, Whitley ran out 4-1 winners, with Damon Robson getting two.

Whitley’s team news is that LeePaul Scroggins remains suspended while David Coulson is still struggling with injury.
