A new junior football team is launching ready for the 2013/14 season.

Monkseaton Juniors FC has team up with Monkseaton High School to deliver training for its teams from Under 5 to Under 13s, with four UEFA B qualified coaches to lead the seasons.

Coach Mark Bryden said: “I wanted to give Whitley Bay’s young footballers the opportunity to learn from some of the best local coaches, many of whom have coached at professional levels, at prices parents can afford.

“All our players will work with UEFA trained coaches a minimum of twice a week with matches played on Monkseaton High School’s fantastic facilities.”

The school’s Director of Football, Lee Picton, has welcomed the arrival of the new club saying: “Mark came to us with an exciting new proposal which is a win-win for both sides.

“It will hopefully see hundreds of young kids enjoy the fantastic new facilities here at the school, and at the same time, may well inspire some of them to want to study here in the future.

“We are now looking into the potential of a lower school Football Academy to hopefully emulate the sustained, national level success of the Sixth form Football Academy, and this partnership could well help generate many talents players and students for both the academy and the club.”

The club are holding trials throughout June. For more information contact Mark Bryden on 07449 341009 or email
