The three new summer additions were thrown straight into the mix and they all settled in quickly.

The game ebbed and flowed and it was Montague who took the lead on 23 minutes with a speculative lob which just evaded the home keeper.

An upbeat Cullercoats team came out in the second half and Saffy Hogarth played an exquisite ball in the channel for striker Beth Waterson who never broke stride and made no mistake to level it at 1-1.

Waterson then recieved the ball to feet 25 yards out, turned the defender brilliantly and let loose her trademark thunderbolt to make it 2-1. She completed her hat-trick when she pressurised the away keeper and finished well.

Montague never looked out of it and pulled a goal back on with a superb move down the left which was neatly headed home by the their striker.

Summer signing Kennedy Baxter sealed the victory for the home side with a neat turn and finish 12 yards out to make it 4-2.

Another new signing, Courtney Sheriff, was outstanding at the back for Cullercoats and received player of the match for an outstanding debut.
