North Shields Juniors look to mark successful season

North Shields Juniors AFC will celebrate their achievements over the season with their annual end of season presentation events later this month.

The awards are held over two nights, on Friday, May 29 (under-7 to under-11), and Saturday, May 30 (under-12 to under-17), at John Spence Community High School.

Four teams have reached the East Youth Divisional cup finals.

The under-14 Juniors won their final in style with the under-10 Eagles, under-11 Juniors and under-17 Porto preparing for their games next week.

The under-11 Sharks girls and under-13 Amazons girls have both won their leagues with some great performances.

The under-16 girls played in the NFA County Cup final this week as they looked to retain the trophy they won last season.

Leagues have also been won by the under-9 Whites, under-10 Eagles, under-11 Ospreys, under-14 Juniors and under-17 Athletic, while the under-12 Juniors, under-17 Porto and under-15 Lions have all been promoted to higher divisions after successful seasons.

The club now have teams in the top division at every boys and girls age group.

The club caters for players of all abilities hosting over 40 teams with every player receiving their own individual award to recognise their personal achievement during the season.

The club runs a Saturday morning Soccer Skills to provide fun coaching sessions for boys and girls from four-years-old with more than 100 budding superstars of the future attending the sessions.

These are held on the club’s new all-weather surface that was funded in partnership with the Football Foundation, Northumberland FA and John Spence Community High School where the club are based.

The school have been supportive in working in partnership with the club and are looking to develop a new community club house on the site in 2016.

Preparations are under way for next season with trials planned for the first two weeks of June starting on Monday, June 1.
