Action from the friendly against Seaton Delaval.

The Robins found themselves a goal down after ten minutes but this gave Shields a spark to push forward and after two good saves from the goalkeeper, Shields drew level after half an hour with Gareth Bainbridge on target.

Five minutes later, new boy Nick Cassidy put Shields ahead and moments later Cameron Cunningham hit the bar from outside the box as Robins continued to make all the running.

Shields started well in the second half and seven minutes in Scott McCarthy made it 3-1 before Ryan Carr came into the act with his first goal to make it 4-1.

In the final 20 minutes Paul Van-Zandvliet joined in on the scoring on his debut for North Shields before Carr scored his second with a great header to make it 6-1.

McCarthy then picked the ball up again and fired it past the goalkeeper for the seventh.

And the final goal of the game came when Carr completed his hat- trick with a stunning effort from the forward.

A brace from Dale Pearson helped Blyth Spartans overcome North Shields in a commanding display on Tuesday.

Pearson opened the scoring after half an hour as he smashed home a Rhys Evans cross from close range before Scott Fenwick doubled the scoring just a minute later.

Pearson then grabbed his second two minutes after the break, converting into an empty net after the Shields stopper parried a cross into his path.
