Robins lose opening league game
Two second half goals from Dylan Elliott denied North Shields a deserved share of the spoils when they went down 2-1 against Sunderland RCA on the opening day of the season on Saturday.
The Robins were by far the more dominant in the first half, with efforts from Ryan Carr and Rhys Williams denied by RCA keeper Rob Dean.
Carr wasn’t to be denied in the second half as his towering header looped over Dean to give Shields the lead.
However, a dubious penalty and a close-range effort from Elliott inflicted opening day defeat on the Robins.
Last night (Wednesday) North Shields were due to face Whickham in their first home league game of the season and on Saturday they are home to Guisborough.
