Skipper Douglas struck the Easington post on the hour before the lively Holmes latched on to a Douglas through ball to burst the net and restore the home advantage on 79 minutes.
Four minutes on though it was all square with Shields conceding from a free kick on the edge of the penalty area, this time converted by Luke Wilson.
