St Thomas More A team won their group with maximum points and conceding no goals. The crucial game turned out to be their win over Marden Bridge who finished in second place, growing stronger in each game.

In group two, Valley Gardens narrowly beat George Stephenson in the first game and, although they were held to a draw by Wellfield, they won their other games to take the group by one point.

George Stephenson were a close second with Seaton Burn and Wellfield performing well in a competitive group.

St Thomas More took an early lead in the final with Valley Gardens equalising half way through.

Two more goals from St Thomas More gave them a 3-1 win and the team now represent North Tyneside in the Northumberland County finals in January.

Eddie Rowley, president of North Shields Rotary Club, who sponsor the event, was on hand to present medals to both finalists and the trophy to St Thomas More.
