Three teams from Wallsend Boys’ Club returned home from the ESF Festival of Football tournament in Skegness as U7, U12 and U8 champions.
The teams topped their group tables, without losing a single match across the weekend.
Two Wallsend BC Yellows sides and Wallsend BC Barca were then presented with their trophies by former Liverpool and Wales striker Ian Rush.
By winning the tournament in their respective age groups, all three automatically qualify for the ESF Finale taking place later this year at the University of Warwick Football Centre.
With over 1,100 boys and girls teams participating every year, the ESF Festival of Football is the biggest youth football festival in the UK.
Ian Rush said: “To be crowned ESF Champions is a fantastic achievement. All three teams should be really proud of themselves. Well done to everyone involved with Wallsend BC.”
The victory was welcomed by Michael Robson, from Wallsend BC Yellows U12s, who added: “We’ve had a fantastic time away on tour at the ESF Festival of Football at Butlins.
“It’s been a great experience for us all and one which I’m sure the lads will remember for years to come.
“For the teams to meet Ian Rush topped off a fantastic weekend. The boys are all set for Warwick in July and the ESF Finale.”
