On Saturday Ian Chandler takes his side to in-form Bishop Auckland, who have risen to fourth place in the table thanks to an excellent run of results in recent months.

They are unbeaten at their Heritage Park ground since August and have lost just one of their last 13 games in all competitions, so it will be a very tough task for Whitley this weekend

It was so different early in the season when the sides met at Hillheads and Whitley crushed Bishops 7-0 with Adam Shanks scoring four of the goals that night.

On Tuesday, April 12, Whitley return to Hillheads for a local derby against West Allotment Celtic looking for quick revenge after a stoppage time goal condemned them to a 3-2 defeat at Whitley Park on Good Friday.

Both sides are struggling near the foot of the table and will be desperate for the points.

There is no respite for Bay as two days later they travel to the North Yorkshire coast to take on Marske United in the semi-final of the Northern League Cup.

This game brings back memories of the League Cup final between the sides two years ago when Marske won 2-1 thanks to a controversial penalty in the last minute of extra time at Newcastle’s St James’ Park.
