Following Wednesday night’s trip to local rivals North Shields, Whitley Bay face another tough away day on Saturday when they travel to another of the title contenders, Shildon.
Whitley will go into the game without defender Craig McFarlane who is out for the rest of the season after suffering a broken ankle and torn ligaments in the drawn game at West Allotment on Good Friday.
Shildon are fourth in the table but with games in hand on all the sides above them and are slight favourites in a closely contested championship race.
In Whitley’s favour is the fact that they usually perform well at Dean Street and have lost only once in their last 13 visits, with nine of those games drawn.
Then on Tuesday, April 14, evening sees Whitley on the road yet again when they travel to Wearside to take on Sunderland RCA.
After a poor start to the season, the Ryhope club have been battling to avoid relegation but a good run of form since January has seen them climb out of the bottom three and safe from the drop.
