In round two of the Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League JD Marnock Cup, Cramlington Green and High Street shared 11 goals.
In a competitive game both sides produced some good football in heavy conditions. In the end High went through to the next round with a 6-5 win.
Goals for Green came from Jamie Summers, Jake Larmouth, Josh Pyle, Stephen Short and Michael Murray. Leading the scoring for Street was Anthony Goldie with a hat-trick while Jack Anderson scored two and Jason Smart completed the tally.
In the quarter-final of the same competition, Guide Post won saw off Marden Residents 2-1. Scott Hunter and Mathew Wilkinson scored for the home side with Sean Nolan replying for Residents.
The only game to survive in the premier division saw Ashington Excelsior gain an excellent 2-1 win at home against North Shields Wooden Doll. Steven Gardner and Scott Neal scored for Excelsior while Les Thompson was on target for Wooden Doll.
In division one, Ashington Northern and East Chevington produced 14 goals with Northern winning 8-6. On target for Northern were Kyle Downey (3), Jamie Graham (2), Daniel Costello, Louie Carr and Michael Carr. Goals for Chevington came from Max Anderson (4), Mark Smith and Paul Smith.
FC Beacon put up a good fight against Red Lion at home before going down 5-1. Liam Said was on target for Beacon but goals from Chris Smiles (2), Callum Hermiston, Liam Hornby and Jordan Bellamy won it.
Blyth United Services and AE Phoenix Central shared the points in a 1-1 draw. New signing Paul Bertram scored for Services and Trevor Newman for Phoenix.
On Sunday Burradon and New Fordley are in NFA Sunday Cup action at home to Blakelaw SC. Also next weekend South Beach CC and Dudley and Weetslade will hopefully get their NFA Minor Cup quarter-final played.
