GATESHEAD FC Reserves welcomed three TyneMet College footballers into their squad for a Totesport.com Reserve League fixture against Grimsby Town Reserves at Blundell Park.
Alex Robinson had a fine game, playing the full 90 minutes at right back, whilst Jordan Bogie and Dan Young were introduced for the final 30 minutes.
The trio contributed to a 3-0 win for the Tynesiders, with Bogie having a hand in the second and third goals from right midfield and Young showing some excellent touches from the left side of the park.
“It was a very good performance,” said Gateshead manager and former TyneMet Football Development Coach Ian Bogie.
“It was great to see the three TyneMet lads come in and hold their own at such a high level of football.
“They were a credit to themselves and the college and their watching college coach Derek Forrest will have been delighted with what he saw.
“It shows that with continued hard work and the quality of coaching they receive at TyneMet, players can mix it with young professional footballers at a level which they all aspire to play at.”
