TYNEMOUTH United nder-11 Yellows kicked off their season with a deserved victory over Hexham Whites.
The Yellows enjoyed the better of the early exchanges but were stunned when they found themselves a goal down.
Early shots from Oliver Harrison and Bradley Ord were well saved by the Hexham keeper.
The Yellows continued to press and Harry Richardson was unlucky when his volley from the edge of the box went over the bar before firing just wide from a free kick.
With a minute until half-time, the Yellows finally got an equaliser.
Will Foster was fouled in the box and the referee awarded a penalty.
Ord stepped up to hit a low drive into the corner of the net.
As the second half progressed, Hexham began to get back into the game and David Chandler, Jamie Wills and Patrick Holiman all made vital clearances.
The Yellows took the lead for the first time on 52 minutes when Harrison fired home from the edge of the six-yard box.
Tynemouth Yellows kept on trying to increase their lead, and with five minutes remaining, they went further ahead.
Ord threaded yet another pass through to Harrison who beat the offside trap and netted his second of the game.
