West Jesmond extended their unbeaten Tyneside Amateur League record into the new year with a hard-fought 2-1 win at Wardley. Dougie Cranston and Gary Wilkinson were on target for Jesmond, with Dean Kirtley scoring for Wardley.
Gosforth Bohemian Reserves have themselves lost only one game in the league, and they beat Ryton and Crawcrook Albion Reserves 3-1. Paul Mulhearn bagged a brace and John Randall also scored for Bohs, with David Kings the man on target for Ryton.
Leaders Hazlerigg Victory won again, although they were made to sweat by Newcastle East End who held them for an hour. Class told in the end, however, as Victory netted five times in the final half hour. Kurt Blacklock celebrated a pair and there were further goals from Richard Coulson, Sean McRoberts and Dale Pearson.
Bedlington Juniors got the better of Ponteland United Reserves to stay fourth in the table. Darren Parkes, Ebin Prieto and Dan Troughton scored for Pont, but goals from Dean Fitch, Ethan Paige, Darren Percy and Andrew McLennan (2) won it for Bedlington.
The remaining game between Forest Hall YPC and Lindisfarne Custom Planet Reserves was postponed.
