Whitley Bay Boys Club sign partnership deal with Nike
A North Tyneside youth football club has signed a game-changing deal to partner worldwide sports giant Nike.
Whitley Bay Boys Club has sealed a four-year contract with the US multi-national to become a Nike Partner Club.
The boys club joins an exclusive group which is working with Nike and the FA to promote the game to an increasing amount of youngsters and raise standards nationally.
It will adopt the FA’s coaching strategy in line with other leading clubs across the country.
The club, which coaches and develops boys and girls between the ages of five and 17, will get funding for coaching qualifications and safeguarding training, and support to raise the community profile of the club in the area around Whitley Bay.
As part of the deal, Nike kit will be available for boys club members through an online store run by local supplier Kits4All.
Rob Nixon, chairman of Whitley Bay Boys Club, said: “I am absolutely delighted the club has reached an agreement to become a Nike Partner Club.
“We held the belief that it was very important to establish a strong brand identity for our club.
“So we naturally jumped at the opportunity to work in partnership with such a massive worldwide sports brand like Nike.
“We would like to thank them for their time and effort to agree this deal with us, along with Kits4All, and we are really looking forward to working closely with them both to help us develop and grow our grassroots football club and serve our local community in the future.”
