Whitley Bay Boys Club U10s will be making their way to Wembley later this year.
They won the regional heat of the Indesit National Mini Soccer Cup, securing their place at Finals Day.
Team manager Andrew Telfer said: “The team are ecstatic to have won their place at Wembley and we’ll certainly be training hard to make sure we lift the trophy in the shadow of Bobby Moore’s statue at Wembley Stadium.”
The Indesit National Mini Soccer Cup has returned for a second season after hugely successful inaugural event last year, which saw 140 teams and more than 1,200 players take part.
The mixed competition for U8s and U10s is in association with Indesit’s partners FourFourTwo, Powerleague and Mums In The Know.
The Mini Soccer Cup has 12 regional heats across the UK, leading up to Finals Day on November 14 at Wembley Stadium at Powerleague Centre’s five-a-side pitches.
