Whitley Bay have been drawn at home to Vanamara National League North side Chorley in the third qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup.
The Lancashire side are currently ninth in their league, which is three levels above the EbaC Northern League, but Whitley Bay will be hoping that home advantage counts in their favour.
Chorley reached this stage of the competition with a 2-0 home win over Frickley Athletic on Saturday.
They are managed by Matt Jansen, who played for Carlisle United, Crystal Palace, Blackburn Rovers, Coventry City and Bolton Wanderers during his career.
The sides met regularly during the 1990s when both were members of the Northern Premier League, but this will be the first occasion in which they have come face-to-face in the FA Cup.
The prize for the winners is an attractive £7,500 plus a place in the final qualifying round.
The game will be played on Saturday, October 10, when Whitley will be hoping for a bumper crowd for their biggest game of the season.
A big boost is the fact that there will be no Premier League games that weekend due to international fixtures, so the club will be hoping for the support of local fans of Newcastle United and Sunderland.
