Junior teams at Whitley Bay FC will soon have the benefit of a defibrillator at their Foxhunters training facility thanks to fundraising activities and donations from within the club.
The youngsters held a bucket collection at the recent Northern League match between Whitley Bay and Shildon at Hillheads and raised more than £140.
Further donations of £150 each from the football club and supporters’ club have helped the juniors to reach their target ahead of schedule.
Pat Gladstone, representing the junior teams, received cheques from Peter Siddle, Whitley Bay FC vice-chairman, and Stephen Tyley, supporters’ club treasurer. She expressed her delight at the success of the fundraising, thanking everyone for their support.
