Whitley Bay midfielder Paul Robinson said he was delighted to be playing again after he started his first game since January following a knee injury.
The 30-year-old, who works for the Newcastle United Foundation, said: “It’s good to be back, it was frustrating being injured.”
As for his goal against West Auckland, he added: “I struck it nicely and it flew into the top corner, which is a nice feeling after being out for so long.
“West are a good team, one of the best we’ve played this season, so it’s credit to how far we’ve come.”
Robinson is approaching full fitness but admitted: “I was feeling it a bit so that’s why I came off, but we’ve got more than a week before our next game so I’ll be raring to go against West Allotment.”
