Whitley Bay head back to Billingham

WHITLEY Bay are back in Billingham on Saturday, just three weeks after an opening day victory at Billingham Town.

Saturday sees them up against Town’s near neighbours Billingham Synthonia and a similar result to the 2-1 victory achieved at Bedford Terrace would go down well.

Whitley will be boosted by their excellent performance against Bedlington Terriers on Saturday and with Callum Anderson having completed his suspension and Denver Morris returned from holiday, Ian Chandler will have a near full strength squad available.

Synthonia have had a slow start to the season but picked up their first league win at Durham City last weekend and will be looking to continue their improved form.

Whitley’s scheduled game at Carlisle against Celtic Nation on Tuesday has been postponed, leaving them with a free week.

On Saturday, in a rearranged fixture, Whitley will travel to Dunston.
