Whitley Bay hoping to put one over Steelmen

Whitley Bay travel to north west Durham on Saturday to face Consett on their all-weather Belle View pitch.

The two sides are both in mid-table with Whitley one place ahead of the 12th placed Steelmen who will go into this game with at least two players missing through suspension.

Whitley will be hoping that Paul Chow has recovered from the head injury he suffered in the Boxing Day victory over West Allotment, but there are doubts over the fitness of Chris Reid and Paul Robinson.

In their first game at Consett’s new stadium last March, Whitley conceded two late goals to draw 2-2 after Chow had struck twice from the penalty spot, while there was a similar score line when the sides met at Hillheads on the opening day of this season, Chow again netting both of Whitley’s goals.
