Whitley Bay return to league action when they travel to Welfare Park on Saturday to take on Bedlington Terriers in a local derby.
When the sides met at Hillheads at the start of the season, Whitley were beaten 3-0 in a game where the scoreline did not give a fair reflection of the game as they created numerous chances without reward.
Recent weeks have seen an upturn in fortunes for Ian Chandler’s side, with Bay defeating and keeping clean sheets against two top quality sides in Spennymoor and Runcorn.
If they can maintain this form they must have an excellent chance of victory over an inconsistent Terriers outfit.
Whitley are back in cup action next Tuesday evening when they travel to the Nissan Sports Complex to take on second division Washington in the League Cup second round.
Meanwhile, Saturday evening sees the supporters’ club and players holding a ‘Race Night’ at the Seahorse Club at Hillheads, starting at 7.30pm. All are welcome.
